Mother’s Day 2024

We three kids:

I’m the oldest; when we get in the car, I’m the coldest.

Seven years have passed. Dad, can I mow the grass?

Onto the next grade. Let’s see how many eggs they laid.

Uh oh, Mom’s wincing in pain. Legos on the floor;

Look at the garage I made!

I’m in the middle;

I love playing my Disney fiddle.

Unicorns and dresses,

Farm animals and messes.

I love both my brothers

But I share a special bond with my mother

I made a song just for her

“My mommy is the best” (Never ending repeat)

I’m the youngest, not even two yet.

My brother and sister play

Every time I wake up, it’s like a new day.

Mommy walks in and asks

“Hey buddy, did you sleep okay?”

Just when I think I’m all alone

I hear her voice and know

Mommy’s home.

Being a mom is no easy task

“Clean up your toys; it’s a simple task.”

Mommy’s and wives are a rare breed.

By God’s design, they meet our every need.

From hugs and kisses,

Burns, and please, no stitches.

She wants to rest and relax.

“Hey mom, can I have a snack?”

A mom’s job is never done.

Even when she’s stressed,

She still finds time to help us get dressed.

From meals, school, church, and sports

Her love for us is never short.

Mommy, Mom, momma, bruh,

We love you with all our heart.

All the laughter you bear to hear

We all grow and learn year after year.

Sometimes, our answers might end with “duh”.

Oh my gosh, what’s that smell?

Belly laughs, tickles, and giggles,

“Plug your nose mom. Do you smell that fart?”

We may not fully understand

Dad and I ask, “What’s the plan?”.

From our hearts to yours

This is our special way to say

“Happy Mother’s Day”

Love,

Ricky, Thomas, Madelyn, Levi.

Richard Arthurs

I’m Richard, married to my beautiful bride Devyn and we have 3 amazing children. I’m a U.S. Military combat veteran and proud of it. I’m a pastors kid, a manager, a youth pastor, and so much more. . In a retail/ministry life-style, some would say we are too busy; but it gives us purpose. Life has taken me through some scenic routes mainly due to my own choices. But through all that, God has been faithful. I am truly thankful for her mercy, blessings and grace. My wife and I have started this incredible challenge of living a homesteaders life and doing things that generations ago were normal; now not so much. It is hard work and we love it. Through all of this we are dedicated to focusing on ensuring our kids grow up to be respectful individuals who understanding nothing is handed out for free and it takes hard work and determination. As a son, my father wanted us to be better than him. I respect that and have taken that to heart and I want my kids to be better than me. Better physically, mentally, and most importantly spiritually. Our relationship with Christ should be our foundation in everything we do.
